3 day weekend in Seattle

Just came back from a fabulous weekend in Seattle to visit the lovely Shelly Hsiao, my favorite Seattle Amgen scholar! Pictures to be uploaded soon-ish via Picasa. Here's a brief of the past 3 days:

Thursday
  • Cheryl misplacing her cell phone =( h/e found on the sidewalk of her house =)
  • experiencing Seattle RAIN and its unreliable evening public transportation system...damn the 68!
  • viewing Univ. of Washington via getting lost & navigation through campus maps and Derrick on cell phone
  • FINALLY finding Shelly!!!

Friday

  • early breakfast
  • walking along gorgeous Seattle waterfront
  • Fremont - Troll...walking in a loop... Center of the Universe, Lenin, Waiting for the Interurban
  • Seattle Center - SkyCity Restaurant, Space Needle, jumping pictures!
  • Top Pot donuts - a Rachel Ray/Winnie Ying suggestion
  • the ORIGINAL NORDSTROM featuring...TOMS =)
  • Pike Place Market - flying fish, gorgeous produce and flowers, the ORIGINAL Starbucks, prioshky piroshky, Shy Giant Frozen Yogurt
  • Anywhere between 6 - 8 miles of walking =)
  • Bubble Tea & the Game of Life on the Ave.
  • Hanging out with the Amgen Seattle group

Saturday

  • later start
  • Sculpture Garden - Giant cones, Richard(?) Serra's work // "The Arc", Typewriter Eraser, Silver Tree
  • Walking along the Seattle waterfront/pier
  • Pike Place Market take TWO! featuring the PIG!
  • Indian Buffet lunch via Rachel Ray tip #1: Ask a local! Pabla's @ 2nd & Pine - YUM-O!
  • more piroshky piroshky =P
  • first cup of Seattle coffee
  • shopping!
  • Pioneer Square History
  • Trabant Chaiwalla - SOOO GOOD!
  • Tim's 21st Birthday Party! New friends, good food, & s'mores
  • z...Z...z..Z...knocked out!

Sunday

  • SUPER early cab ride to Sea-Tac & flight home
  • 10 AM arrival

The rest of the day was a LONG nap, catch up on Sex & the City Reruns, and...what else...Food!
